Meta, about to launch physical stores?

The metaverse, this universe between real and virtual world, is struggling to convince the general public. Concept still vague, applications not very clear... Meta is aware of this and plans many actions to make the subject better known. One of them? The deployment of physical stores.

Hey you !

The metaverse is this new universe, halfway between the real and virtual worlds. It’s a big ambition, and a public that still needs to be made aware of it. In order to deploy the metaverse, Mark Zuckerberg has chosen a strategy that may come as a surprise: opening stores in the real world. Passion Media explains the subject to you.

A major challenge: making the Metaverse known

The main challenge of the metaverse? Clarifying the concept for the general public. Yes, today, the Metaverse is still unclear and difficult to understand for everyone. However, Meta is convinced of its potential and impact in the coming years. And precisely, in order to encourage the deployment of the metaverse, the firm is planning to open a large network of stores around the world. This would be a great first since Facebook (now Meta) has never opened a single physical store until now.

A network of physical stores for the metaverse

According to our sources, these new generation stores would aim to promote the products of the Reality Labs division of Facebook. Virtual reality helmet, connected glasses (made with Rayban)… and many other things. More concretely? We will see all the tools and technologies that will allow access to this famous virtual world. These stores should be designed, uncluttered, and the brand will only be visible in a rather discreet way.

When will it be deployed?

It seems that the project is under consideration. The brand is planning to launch its first demonstration store in Burlingame, California, close to its offices and more particularly to the Reality Labs. As for the name of this store network, nothing is definite yet. Facebook Hub, Facebook Commons, Facebook Reality Store and From Facebook, Facebook Store… Anyway, no concrete announcement to date, nor a launch date.
