Tik Tok: the most authentic and avant-garde social network of the moment?

The latest global study on the perception of TikTok users, published by Nielsen. Passion Media has analyzed the study in detail to give you the main information to remember.

Hey you,

For a few years now, the social network TikTok has been on everyone’s lips and in every smartphone, so in order to better understand the relationship between TikTok and its users, the Nielsen firm conducted a study at the request of the social network to measure how much TikTok users appreciate or not the social network. It must be said that the results of the study are surprising and we, actors of the passion economy, are particularly interested!  Carried out with a panel of 8,000 TikTok users from all over the world, Nielsen conducted as many interviews in order to get their opinions on various aspects of the user experience of the application and on the content and advertisements present in the social network. In this complementary TikTok universe, passion média has taken a look at the study to tell you the best part!

The content is authentic and avant-garde

And yes, on TikTok, users from all over the world feel free to be themselves and associate visible content as authentic, honest, real, unique and fun to the point that on a global scale, an average of 64% of TikTok users talk about it and the feeling is shared between different countries such as Canada, Brazil, Indonesia or even Russia without any difference of culture, place or language. Thanks to the trust that has been established on the platform, advertising campaigns on the social network benefit from a stronger engagement and a deeper connection with users who, on average, 84% say they discover content they can relate to.

Tik Tok brings fun and joy

What is your reason for coming back to TikTok again and again? Well, for 31% of the users TikTok is a morale booster and it’s one of the main reasons for its success! The video approach lends itself much more to light-hearted, comical, less results-based performances and therefore makes it a more positive, open and welcoming environment. As a result, 59% of TikTok users feel a sense of community when they are on the platform. Compared to the recent news about Instagram, which some studies have revealed the negative impact of self-perception and especially on teenage girls, due to the pressure of perfection and popularity, Tik Tok, would be seen as the antidote with a lighter approach to life instead of showing an unattainable self-image.

Tik Tok, is the most open social network

Is there an ethical element in the TikTok application? At least, it looks like it insofar as TikTok videos invite participation and celebrate the commonalities that users can relate to as opposed to users who seek to stand out by wanting to be superior to others. The study also highlights how TikTok has earned the sympathy of users. Over time, social networks have become platforms where people compete with each other in representation and performance, spaces of rivalry as in a permanent contest, which has made them less welcoming and open, especially for Internet users who were simply looking for connection. It’s probably for all these reasons that TikTok attracts so much, a social network that embodies many more things that connect us than people looking to stand out.
