Pinterest launches 6 key tools for content creators!

The platform has just announced the release of 6 flagship features dedicated to content creators: a dedicated watch tab, an augmented reality tool, a coaching program, more interactive formats, more intuitive shopping... In short, a new set of tools that should help creators monetize their content!

Hey you,

Platforms are doing more and more things for content creators. Co-creation of posts on Instagram, monetization via the super follow on Twitter…. Now it’s the turn of the Pinterest platform to take the plunge. On the occasion of its Pinterest Creators festival, the Pinterest teams have just announced the release of a new series of tools for content creators. Passion Media reviews with you the information to remember!

A tab for monitoring

Many people were already using Pinterest for the purpose of monitoring, but until now no tool had been designed specifically for it. Creators were then content to create dedicated boards and pin content that interested them. The platform has just announced a key change on this subject: the creation of a tab dedicated to monitoring. More concretely, this materializes as a full-screen feed of idea pins that users can scroll through and engage with. This is reminiscent of the idea of a news feed that can be found on other social networks.

The arrival of “Takes”: a more interactive and engaging tool

The platform has just added what it calls Takes. The objective? Promote engagement and exchanges between content creators and their communities. People who pin content will also be able to add stickers and personalize the content they pin (music, stickers, video recording stickers, etc…). Everything will be visible before publication via a preview mode that should make things much easier.

The launch of the Creator Originals program

In the same logic as what Tiktok did with the launch of NFT in partnership with its star content creators, Pinterest has just launched “Creator Originals”. It’s a content series aimed at highlighting the 100 most influential creators on the platform. Through January 2022, each creator will be invited to make a selection of Idea Pins on a specific theme designed to educate, teach and inspire users. Pinterest will then highlight each of the themes, somewhat in the form of trends like what we are used to seeing on Twitter or TikTok.

A tool to try a product in virtual reality

In order to help content creators convert their achievements into purchases, the platform has also taken a big step. Thanks to the AR Try On technology, visitors can now try the featured beauty products directly in augmented reality. Specifically, creators simply need to add the Try On to the pins. And then? Internet users click on “Try On” to test them in virtual reality. They can also go further by browsing a database of over 10,000 already active links of products to try. And to top it all off, they simply click on buy to proceed to payment for the product.

Shop Similar Technology

We’re used to “you’ll like it too”, “if you liked this product you’ll like that one”, etc.. Pinterest goes further! With its “Shop Similar” technology, the tool automatically suggests similar products, based on a visual analysis of the image and the product viewed. In other words? Internet users can now buy what they see very simply, in a few clicks.

The Creator Reward feature

This is simply the first monetization program dedicated to creators on the platform. The goal? To help content creators monetize their content. How does it work? This translates into a sort of hub with a slew of content, guides, tips, allowing creators to maximize the visibility of their content and creations. In the same logic, Pinterest has also announced to offer micro-grants in order to promote certain projects related to the trends of the moment. In order to select the projects, it will define upfront goals based on engagement. The creators who will answer these briefs will be eligible for the grants and subsidies provided by the platform (more than 20 million dollars dedicated to the subject!).
